Since 2003 SCANY has organized the biennial regional exhibition of the work of the Colombian resident architects in the metropolitan area of New York City, works that have been exhibited and published in the U.S.A. and other countries
From an organization that received hundreds of Colombian professionals and guided them in the process of preparation for obtaining accreditation, licenses and registrations by lectures, courses, preparation and guidance, SCANY evolved in an organization of entrepreneurs and recognized awarded architects.
With the organization and publication of the Colombian Diaspora MMXII Architecture Awards, the organization is looking for a world-wide exposure, creating a tool that connect Colombian architects all over the world and somehow resolve the projection of architecture outside their country of origen.
More than 60 projects built on more than 15 countries around the world, competed in different categories for the PAD prize. The publication shows each project in detail, the international jury, and a complete analysis of the winners. The magazine is an example of what colombian architects are doing outside Colombia. But beyond that, it is a vivid demonstration of globalization, where colombian architects, as citizens of the world, compete within the profession and produce tremendous results. It’s a glossy bilingual magazine with an elegant design.
