New York Mayor’s race of 2009 was seen as a not equal contest in virtue of the millions of dollars campaigns difference.
The strongest runners for the Office were Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an independent millionaire on the Republican side and New York City Comptroller Bill Thompson, for the Democratic Party.
Bloomberg won his third term with 50.7% of votes over Thompson’s 46%.
In this illustration Bloomberg is portrayed as a giant roman soldier with money in his hand against a small shepherd. The cover caused some controversy but it illustrated the difference in resources.
