This spread presents a timeline of Mr. Barack Obama’s path to the Oval Office.  The investigation, selection and editing of information are the most important elements once the layout concept is defined. Usually it can’t be done in a deadline and consequently planning is required. The editor, in this case, risked resources,  betting to the election results of 2008.

This work was prepared in advance an it was hold until the election results. That’s the spirit of the news, to anticipate, to plan and to prepare for possible events. If Mr. Obama would not have been elected, probably this spread could had been used with minor changes in a soft section stressing the historical importance of the aspiration of an African-American to the White House. He won instead and the timeline was a nice complement to the breaking news.
